The Taylor County Farmers' Market recently received a USDA small business promotion grant to use toward the famers' market in Taylor County. In cooperation with the health department and the extension office the market is working toward a revitalization. Increasing interest within the market throughout the community by increased advertisement on radio paper and social media. While also, providing opportunities for vendors to utilize free advertisement, resources provided by the market, etc. A Facebook page has already been developed and is being utilized for the remainder of this season. New vendor outreach letters have already been sent out, and a new vendor meeting was held on November 7th to discuss the benefits of joining the Taylor County Farmers' Market. After next season the market should be a stronger organization, bettering the community by providing a larger selection of fruits and vegetables, and of course assisting producers in the sale and marketing of their produce and products. Halfway through the season the market now has increased its membership to 8 and has seen its largest amount of customers over the 4th of July weekend of 142.
