Kentucky is one of the leading States for childhood obesityin the United States. Drakes Creek Middle School is located in Warren County,Kentucky. One of the 8^th grade teachers reached out to Warren CountySNAP-Ed Assistants and asked for Nutrition Education Programs to be brought tothe classroom. Students were struggling with consuming fruits and vegetables. 

One of the Warren County SNAP-Ed Assistants presented aseries to an 8^th grade class which featured the Teen Cuisinecurriculum. The series included lessons on nutrition, food safety, foodpreparation and more. Students also prepared hands-on recipes with each lesson.Fifty-two percent of students showed improvement in their consumption ofvegetables, while 67% of students showed improvement in their consumption offruits. Many students stated that they planned to continue making healthyrecipes at home and making healthier choices in everyday life.
