Outcome: Long-Term Outcome
Beef cattle production is still an important component of the Fayette County agricultural economy. Both cow/calf and stocker/backgrounder operations are having to evolve and improve management practices every year to remain active financially. Many new technologies and production practices have came onto the scene in the last few years, and this winter beef cattle program covered those particular topics. Genomic testing, MGAs for Estrous synchronization, and BVD-PI testing in cattle are the specific topics that were covered. A better understanding and education of these latest practices and technologies will only improve beef cattle producers' efficiency and financial stability. Attendance for this program was 25.
