Outcome: Initial Outcome
4-H Camp offers more hours than any other delivery method in 4-H. It provides opportunities for youth & teens to learn independence, gain life skills that will carry them into successful adulthood, become positive & productive members of our society & learn how to acquire skills in a natural setting. Camp helps build self-confidence and self-esteem. 4-H Camp is a place to build social skills and make friends.
This summer, Campbell County 4-H broke the single county record in the state by bringing the most participants to summer 4-H camp with 420 campers and counselors. The State 4-H Camping Specialist, Dr.Darrell Stillwell, presented the Campbell County 4-H staff with a 4-H decorated mini refrigerator as their award.
As a result of camp, 325 of the campers made new friends and tried something new at camp. 95% of campers felt good about something they accomplished at camp.71 volunteer counselors served as amazing role models for the campers. Counselors kept the campers safe, taught classes, assisted camp staff with classes and activities, and helped to make camp fun for all the campers both before and during camp.
