Planning Unit: Woodford County CES

Major Program: Agriculture

Plan of Work: Sustainable Agriculture

Outcome: Intermediate Outcome

Describe the Issue or Situation.

Teaching students how there are pollinators all around us and what they might look like. Learning about the native pollinators in Kentucky and how they come out at different times of the year.

Describe the Outreach or Educational Program Response (and Partners, if applicable).

The outreach was with the Woodford County Horticulture Agent where we both discussed with the kids the differences in what pollinators we saw and what they are attracted to and why they are attracted to them. The students discussed which ones they have seen.

Provide the Number and Description(s) of Participants/Target Audience.

There were 5 students who all ranged in the are of 9-15 years of age.

Provide a Statement of Outcomes or Program Impact. Please note that the outcomes statement must use evaluation data to describe the change(s) that occurred in individuals, groups, families, businesses, or in the community because of the program/outreach.

The students left this program with a better realization of what is around them in their community. They can look around their own yard or even in their own park and understand what is around them.
