The third year for the Boyd County Farmers Market location at the local hospital has increased 50% in vendors and has total sales increased by 30% from the first year it opened.  This locations success is due in part to many local producers finding that this market it thriving with not only customers from the hospital itself but with the number of senior and WIC voucher recipients redeeming their vouchers at this location increasing with each year it is open.  At the close of the second market season at the hospital location, the total market sales for this one day a week market that is only open for 4 hours out sold the location in the county that is a 2 day a week market open for up to 7 hours each day by almost $10,000 for the season.  The total market sales for the Boyd County Farmers Market were at the highest it has been in over 20 years with yearly sales being $106,159.  These local farmers strive to make sure that the quality of their produce is 100% locally grown so that their customers are getting the freshest most nutritious product possible.
