The Taylor County Cattlemen’s Association hosted a Cattlemen’s Roundup with approximately 100 producers participating in the event.  Participants viewed new products from five vendors and educational sessions on forage establishment and forage quality along with a drill setting demonstration.

Educational meetings were also held on Mineral Nutrition, Herd Health and Cattle Market and Management Considerations.

The Taylor County Cattlemen’s Association also administers the CAIP program.  Fifty-seven people received funds in 11 investment areas for a total of $157,340.20 and the YAIP program with 16 youth receiving funding of $937.50 each for a total of $15,000.  They also presented four high school seniors with a $750 scholarship and made donations to the Taylor County Fair Beef Show and both local FFA chapters for beef awards.

A local beef producer is currently serving on the state board for the Kentucky Cattlemen’s Association.
