The first ever Bingocize program in Lincoln County was held in the spring of 2022. Bingocize is an evidence-based health promotion program that combines exercise with the game of bingo. Participants played Bingocize for 20 sessions. In this first program, 18 participants played bingo and exercised. Participants increased muscle strength, flexibility, and range of motion; decreased stress; improved their balance; increased their social skills; and reduced their risk of falling. Participants were so unhappy that the program was ending. They really wanted to continue playing Bingocize. Some participants recorded via an activity tracker the number of calories burned in the session, their average heartrate, and max heart rate. As a result of the success of this first Bingocize program, 38 people registered for the fall program. Two classes are currently being offered to accommodate those playing Bingocize. This program is a fun way to get adults moving and socializing!
