This spring students from 3 local elementary schools held a communications contest for grades 4th-6th. These students then moved on to the Christian County 4-H county level contest where 16 youth participated in the speech division. “I had a difficult time scoring these youth on their speeches, each worked very hard to preparing for the event and had to courage to stand in front of their family and peers to give their speech,” said one local judge.”
During the Pennyrile Area Communication Contest, six youth that were winners at the local level in Christian County competed in Princeton, KY. These youth showed much talent and determination as everyone of the six 4-Hers won first place and have the ability to move on to the Kentucky 4-H State Communications Contest.
