Situation:
Kenton County is a diverse county and we have people producing food at all levels, from traditional commercial operations to self-sustaining homesteading food production.
Long-Term Outcomes:
Increase the availability of food for Kenton County residents interested in producing their own food.
Intermediate Outcomes:
Implementation of practices needed to produce food.
Initial Outcomes:
Residents learn how to best raise their own food for their consumption.

Assisting Kenton County Farmers to Increase Revenue

The Kenton County Agriculture Leadership Class of 2018 determined that marketing locally grown  agriculture products is a hurdle for most farm-to-consumer operations. Long Term Input Results in Long Term Outcome

There seems to be interest in buying and investing in small farm operations for post-retirement incomes of baby boomers. These small farm operators have time constraints which means that these projects take longer to complete because they are typically still working off the farm.  A working professional couple here in Kenton County began pursuing a small farm operation and bought a farm to establish a small cattle farm.  They began working with Kenton County Agriculture and Natural Res
