Urban Paradise Produce Participation in KY Small Fruits Initiative

Author: Daniel Becker

Planning Unit: Horticulture

Major Program: Horticulture, Commercial

Outcome: Intermediate Outcome

Jenny Clark, proprietor of Urban Paradise Produce in Princeton, Caldwell County is participating for a second year in the Kentucky Small Fruit Initiative, a grant program for small growers provided through the Kentucky Horticulture Council. In April she wrote "I have received the cool-bot and the plants from Indiana Berry.  I also got the check in the mail for Deerfield Supply.  I am going to take a half vacation day next week to go over there to purchase the rest of the supplies needed.  We have our extra row and other row extensions ready to work the peat in as soon as it dries up a little bit.  It is very exciting to see the strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries coming to life this year for the first time!!  Especially to see that the blueberries are in different stages of budding out due to the variety of plantings.  Thank you so much for the partnership!!.  It has been a wonderful experience to develop and expand our products with your guidance.  I would have never felt like I could have done this without your help and encouragement.  We are super excited to see what this year's harvest brings.

Sincerely
Jenny Clark
Urban Paradise Produce"
