Outcome: Initial Outcome
The COVID pandemic has presented several new obstacles for our local schools systems, one of which being able to keep our kids safe by providing enough facemasks for any children who are in need, for one reason or another. Several Madison County Family Resource Centers in our local schools identified as having a need for child sized facemasks for their students around the county elementary schools, as well as a couple middle and high schools. In partnership with the Family Resource Center directors, several homemakers and volunteers designed and assembled masks of various sizes. These facemasks were donated to the extension office, and I coordinated as the FCS agent to organize and deliver of a shipment of masks to various Family Resource Centers around Madison County. To date over 250 masks have been delivered to seven different schools, and more donations are being brought in weekly.
