People seem to busier than ever! And it is increasingly common to hear a client say they wished they could make it to a class or program at the Extension Office but they just do not have the time. The Madison County Extension Horticulture Agent and the Madison County Extension Horticulture Council brainstormed ways to reach clients that do not have the time or capability to come to the office for a meeting.
Horticulture classes were recorded and placed on the Madison County Extension Horticulture website so that clients can watch them at a time which is convenient for them. Along with the recordings on the website are pdf copies of the slides from the presentation. Presentations were also posted on face book and you tube.
Many Madison County residents do not have reliable access to the internet. For those clients, the Madison County Cooperative Extension Service sent printed copies of the presentations to anyone who requested them.
This approach has been well received by clients.
One client that does not have internet access at their home said, “I am so grateful for all the innovative and available information from the extension service for those of us who do not have the internet. We appreciate the phone calls and mailings.”
