The Buffalo Trace annual Farm School for Women was held during October with an alternative format.The program is geared to offer educational programming to an underserved agriculture audience from a management and production focus. The program’s success has been in part due to the past hands on activities to reinforce educational program, however, in the midst of a COVID pandemic the program was delivered with a different approach. Agents developed four evening educational sessions that would take place via a virtual format. Participants picked up educational bags to help add activities to the educational components as they took part in each session. 26 ladies participated in the program consisting of mum production, land management, herd health, and rotational grazing. Comments from the ladies indicated the program was well received and topics were beneficial to their operation.
