Plan of Work: Get Creative and Communicate in Wayne County
Outcome: Initial Outcome
Virtual learning is the only way that we have been able to communicate and reach youth in our community. Covid-19 has provided us some unique opportunities to try some new things and test new county programming efforts.
Wayne Co has held virtual clubs for art, cooking, cloverbuds, needlework and culture/global awareness. In total 30 youth are participating on a regular basis.
Success is evident by responses from parents and youth. "I grew up in Germany and since he's heard a lot about it, I was comparing the two, but he wasn't grasping it. Then it hit me.. Frozen. So we thought about the people in those movies, and we read all of the instructions in the voice of Oaken (Oaken's Trading Post) and remembered the trolls in those movies, and he got it. He was excited to show off his gnome to his grandmother too!" - Brianna, parent
