In August 2020, the Nutrition Education Program SNAP-Ed Assistant delivered 100 Cookbooks, "Using Recipes from the Emergency Food Assistance Program," to Micah Mission's food pantry. Learning of the Mission's safe procedures of providing foods to limited resource families during COVID-19, the Assistant formed a partnership with the Mission.
Six weeks into the partnership the SNAP-Ed Assistant has printed and shared 1,250 recipes, 300 Seasoned Newsletters, and 200 Healthy at Home Newsletters that were placed in the 921 boxes distributed to 262 families in a safe drive thru pick up. Continuing to work with the Mission, the SNAP-Ed Assistant looks forward to the day when the COVID-19 pandemic is over and the adults can attend classes offered through the Nutrition Education Program.
