Plan of Work: Promoting Physical Activity
Outcome: Initial Outcome
Promoting physical activity and healthy eating is a vital component to Scott County Cooperative Extension Office plan of work. While many of our summer programs have been cancelled due to Covid-19, Scott County 4-H Agent and Nutrition Education Program Assistant Senior worked together to ensure those youth that apart of the under served audience are receiving information about physical fitness and healthy eating. Together the Scott County 4-H Agent and the Nutrition Education Program Assistant planned and implemented Go Bags for youth at a local mobile home neighborhood. Together, they made 70 Go Bags that included either a jump rope, Frisbee, or ball, a physical fitness calendar, and Snap Ed recipes. The 4-H Agent and Nutrition Education Program Assistant also provided 70 Go Bags for the mobile home neighborhood that included information about healthy eating, hand washing handout, conversion table magnet, Snap Ed smoothie recipes, and other Snap Ed recipes. Each Go Bag was delivered and handed out to those families that had youth by the manager of the neighborhood.
