Major Program: 4-H Agriculture Core Curriculum AND Natural Resources

Plan of Work: Leadership Skills for Youth and Adults

Outcome: Long-Term Outcome

Anderson County 4-Hers has been curing country hams in Woodford county due to not having a country ham barn facility of their own. Anderson county 4-H council and Anderson County 4-H Livestock club saw that not having a barn close we had a decline of youth that were interested in participating in the program. We began developing a plan to have a ham barn built for our youth. In collaboration with Lawrenceburg Rotary and Anderson County 4-H council the Rotary club was able fund the barn with a grant they received. Our country ham participants in 19-20 grew from 5 to 20. Having the country ham barn at the office has gained participation and has allowed our livestock leaders the opportunity for more hands on learning.
