Plan of Work: Healthy Environments and Homes in Nicholas County
Outcome: Initial Outcome
Nicholas County 4-H has a strong and vibrant Middle School Leadership Club. Youth meet once a month to explore leadership opportunities inside and outside of their community. In December the club hosted a Holiday Movie Night and Food Drive event located at the Nicholas County Extension Office. 4-Hers partnered with the FRYSC coordinator and all donations collected were sent to the FRYSC Backpack program. This program serves 300 Nicholas County families. Each family is provided holiday assistance in the form of non-perishable food items sent home with the student the last day of school before Christmas Break.
The Nicholas County 4-H Middle School Leadership Club had 13 youth present for the Holiday Movie Night and Food Drive and collected 52 items to be donated and help aid the Backpack program. Participants were thankful they could give to those who needed it most through this program.
