A twenty year 4-H volunteer and 4-H alum received the Dedication of the State 4-H Horse Show. Kendra Humphrey Cunningham received this recognition at the State 4-H Horse Show on Saturday, June 29.
Kendra Humphrey Cunningham is part of at least a third generation 4-H family involved in the 4-H Horse Program. She was a 10 year 4-H member of the Carson Park 4-H Horse Club. She is or has been involved in 4-H at the county, area, district and state levels. She has served as delegate on the Purchase Area 4-H Horse Council and as the Treasurer of the District 7 4-H Horse Management Team. She has served for several years as a District 7 delegate to the State 4-H Horse Advisory Committee and is currently Vice-President of that group. She was a leader of the Carson Park 4-H Horse Club during the time her son, Seth, and daughter, Kevyn, were in the club. She has continued dedicated service to the 4-H Horse Program.
Kendra has served in many capacities in the general 4-H program including Fashion Revue Committee and judge, Ballard County 4-H Council President and Vice-President, 4-H Achievement Records committee and served on the County Extension Council representing 4-H. She has said that involvement in the 4-H Program has contributed to her personal development through public speaking as both a youth and adult. The communications skills she has learned have helped her work with people of all ages and backgrounds. She enjoys seeing 4-Hers develop these skills and the poise and self-confidence it helps to instill.
Kendra is the daughter of Junior and Jane Humphrey, previous recipients of the State 4-H Horse Show Dedication. She is the wife of Howard Cunningham all of Kevil, Kentucky.
