The Garrard County Ag and Natural Resource Agent was ask to present a program on straw bale gardening at the Lincoln County Library. The program demonstrated how to plan and set up a straw bale garden. Sixteen home gardeners attended the program. Twelve of the 16 attendees had heard of straw bale gardening and 4 had tried straw bale gardening in the past. All the participants received a book on straw bale gardening and one hundred percent of the attendees reported they could set up and maintain a straw bale garden as a result of attending the program. The Garrard County ANR agent has received further request for information from attendees so they could help friends that where unable to attend. The 4 that said they had previously tried straw bale gardening were happy with results and had received information from previous Extension programs that Garrard County agent had conducted.
