The Boyle County Farm Bureau Federation applied and were approved for $113,000 in Agriculture Development Funds for the CAIP program. There were 117 applications and 56 were funded. The extension office is the main clearing house for all the paperwork including applications and receipts. The program was started during the last fiscal year and completed this year. The local farm bureau federation has again applied for cost share funds in the amount of $153,000 and that program will be completed by the end of 2019. The 2019 program will fund up to 75 applicants. The extension agent has held 9 educational meetings covering various topics to help the producers fulfill their requirements for getting funds. We are seeing the results of the cost share funding through better quality cattle, better forage management, better cattle working facilties, and updated grain handling facilities.
