Major Program: Accessing Nutritious Foods (general)
Outcome: Long-Term Outcome
At the Madison County Farm Bureau Federation annual meeting, The Ladies Auxiliary invited Madison County Nutrition Education Program to set up a booth as requested with information on sun safety and drinking enough water. For the last 2 years The Madison county Nutrition Education program used a Derma Scan machine which shows sun damage by using a black light. Most farmers wear only ball caps and therefore do not protect their ears, neck and side of their faces. One hundred percent of participants collected information on drinking enough water and staying hydrated, with fifty percent of them having gone thru the Derma Scan machine last year reporting having spots looked at or removed by a dermatologist. And was checking to see if any new had appeared.
