Major Program: Accessing Nutritious Foods (general)

Outcome: Intermediate Outcome

Trying to fit healthy eating into an already busy schedule can be challenging. But students studying in the medical assisting and the business and computer technologies field at the Center for Employment Training found a way to do both! The nutrition assistant from the Campbell County Extension fed the student’s bodies a nutritious lunch and their minds with the Healthy Choices for Every Body nutrition series.

They learned a good healthy meal doesn’t have to take a lot of time and the benefits can improve energy, mood and concentration through proper nutrition.

According to data from a nation reporting system, all ten participants improved their diet in at least one category, 70% showed improvement in planning meals and 50% reported that they learned the value of comparing prices at the store.

These new healthy habits will serve these busy students well as they graduate and successfully enter the local work force.
