Outcome: Initial Outcome
I represent the University of Kentucky on a committee of agricultural leaders from Kentucky’s farm organizations, commodity organizations, and State Department of Agriculture. This committee is analyzing the 2014 Farm Bill and developing policy recommendations to be included in the national discussion of the next farm bill. My expertise in crop insurance, commodity markets, and agricultural policy is referenced by the committee as the current law is discussed. I have presented an analysis of the 2014 Farm Bill payments by county and commodity to inform the committee why the payments differ by crop and county since 2014.
