Outcome: Intermediate Outcome
Describe the Issue or Situation.
On July 29, 2025, we held our yearly Rally Day for 4-H youth members. This day works as part of the county fair for entries created by the youth, to try and have their item make it to the State Fair.
Describe the Outreach or Educational Program Response (and Partners, if applicable).
Throughout the 4-H calendar year clubs and workshops are put together to educate youth members on different skills that can be put to use for the fair, and some are even real-life skills. During the summertime, project days are held that are geared towards fair entries. These project days are normally art & home, wood science, photography, baking, cupcake wars, horticulture, and sewing. Youth can also bring things that fit within fair categories from their home that they made themselves.
Provide the Number and Description(s) of Participants/Target Audience.
The target audience for this event is youth members age 9-17. Ages 9-13 are considered to be a part of the junior division. Ages 14-17 are considered to be a part of the senior division. In the year 2024 we only had 25 youth members that entered items, with 51 items going to the State Fair. This year, 2025, we had a total of 34 youth members that entered items, with 68 items going to the State Fair.
Provide a Statement of Outcomes or Program Impact. Please note that the outcomes statement must use evaluation data to describe the change(s) that occurred in individuals, groups, families, businesses, or in the community because of the program/outreach.
With the increase of youth members that participated and the increase in numbers of items going to the State Fair, I believe this is a program that is needed for our community growth. It works to bring families together to help work on the projects. It also shows families and community members what we as extension are helping the youth with.
