Pulaski County's 4-H Culinary Club has been meeting monthly for the entire program year and wanted a chance to demonstrate their skills and passion for cooking. 5 youth in the Culinary Club signed up to compete in the State Culinary Challenge. These 5 youth spent hours at the extension office, practicing their recipes and culinary skills in preparation for the contest. On Saturday June 21st the five 4-H'ers traveled to Hardin County KY and competed.
The youth that participated noted that they felt more confident in their culinary skills and their culinary knowledge. They built confidence inside the kitchen and in themselves. For most of them, this was their first out of county contest, which helped build their communication skills and their experiences. All the youth also expressed an interest in competing again and plan to continue honing their culinary skills.
