Stepping Stone Class

Author: Katie Hughes

Planning Unit: Union County CES

Major Program: Horticulture, Consumer and Home

Plan of Work: Hort Programs

Outcome: Initial Outcome

Describe the Issue or Situation.

Held a stepping stone class to where people could come create one of their own and add to their home garden. This brought in alot of new people to the extension office from young kids to adults. Even the homemaker group decided to do this program as one of their monthly meetings.

Describe the Outreach or Educational Program Response (and Partners, if applicable).

It showed how to make your own stepping stone and what materials are needed to do so. And discuss the different concretes that can be used and how to properly mix and set up and then once that is done how to care for after the class. Also how to design or bring out the creative thinking for people on what they want to create.

Provide the Number and Description(s) of Participants/Target Audience.

52 participants attended this program. This hit kid ages to adults so anyone in the community to attend.

Provide a Statement of Outcomes or Program Impact. Please note that the outcomes statement must use evaluation data to describe the change(s) that occurred in individuals, groups, families, businesses, or in the community because of the program/outreach.

The program impact was having alot of new people attending this program and learning more about what the extension office has to offer. But also learning how to create their own stepping stones at a low cost and getting to create additional ones at home if wanted to with family or friends.
