Success Story #2
Lunch and Learn Series Success
Beginning in January 2025, I partnered with the Lebanon office of Central KY Ag Credit to host a lunch and learn series for farmers. The target audience was beef producers, grain farmers and small ruminant producers. Topics included carbon markets, agriculture economics and estate planning. Guest speakers featured Dr. Will Snell, Dr. Jordan Shockley both from University of Kentucky and Renee Carrico from KY Farm Bureau.
We hosted a three-part series for the program. Ag Credit and I worked together to bring a special lunch time program for farmers to attend. The sessions were one hour with a free meal served. Farmers were engaged in this type of program and it fit their schedule better than a night meeting. Several participants that attended cannot make an evening meeting due to working late. However, we found that lunch time most are willing to be in town for a program. Ag Credit and I are working on another series for next winter due to the success of this lunch and learn. As result of this program, 40 farmers attended. 2 were young farmers.
