Meeting the educational needs of today's producers requires Agents to learn and adapt to new ways to connect to our clientele. Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Agents in Webster, Lyon, and Trigg counties produce weekly podcasts as part of their regular programs.

With a weekly audience base extending well beyond the state borders, Kentucky Ag Matters has developed a regular, listening audience who receive weekly, research-based information on various online hosts. This allows everyone to access this information while commuting to work or while in the field. To date, the show has had over 6,019 unique downloads.

KY Ag Matters educates and informs our listeners about all agriculture-related things.  As of February 26, 2024, we have recorded 100 episodes with various topics geared toward meeting the emerging needs of our clientele.  Our guests range from UK Extension Specialists to commodity group leaders, as well as extension agents and law enforcement officers.  Our goal is to offer timely, research-based information to the agriculture community consistently and reliably.  We now have over 600 monthly listeners across the United States and several foreign countries.  KY Ag Matters podcast is a priority program for the Tri-County Ag Extension Group.

Testimonials from listeners include:

1)     "I listen to the show every week for the latest information and trends in Agriculture.”

2)     “The best part of a podcast is I can listen to it on my schedule.”

3)     “You all are wonderful advocates for Kentucky Agriculture.”

Kentucky Ag Matters podcast was selected as the 2023 and 2024 State KACAA winner and as a National WINNER for NACAA for Audio Programs for both of the same years.

Stay tuned…and remember, KY Ag Matters.
