As the average age of farmers continues to increase more families are faced with the struggle of estate planning. Families in Scott County have expressed wanting to learn more about estate and succession planning to better prepared them and their families for it.
To combat this issues Scott County ANR Agent partnered with Elder Caw Law of Kentucky. Together they constructed a program that encompassed 4 separate programs. These programs would be monthly from September to December. Each program would cover a different part of succession planning. This programming would cover trusts, LLC, POA, and so much more.
The first Legacy Luncheon was held in September. We targeted senior citizens and families in Scott County with an emphasis on families with large assets. There was a total of 12 participants.
Participants expressed a better understanding of what stage of life they were at. They also expressed a better understanding of trusts.
