Relevance
Extension as long been touted as the nation’s “Best Kept Secret.” While those who have bestowed this title might have thought that it was a compliment because of the great services that Extension provides, it underscores the reality that if we are a secret we are not effectively conveying the message of how we are impacting the lives of those we serve.
Response
Family and Consumer Sciences Extension at the University of Kentucky has been working diligently to ensure that the work that we are doing to improve communities and the quality of lives for individuals and families throughout the Commonwealth is “common knowledge.” We have created multiple pathways for clientele to connect with content that is relevant to their daily lives and based on the research knowledge found at the University of Kentucky. Whether they are engaging with our local agents at the Extension Office in their home community, or reaching out through social media, or listening to a podcast, we ensure that the information they receive is reliable and trustworthy.
