Little Changes Long Term Results

Author: Emma Robinson

Planning Unit: Jefferson County CES

Major Program: Accessing Nutritious Foods (general)

Outcome: Long-Term Outcome

Whenever I go to a site to do lessons I always take a pitcher with me.   When I get to the site I fill the pitcher with ice, water and some type of fruit or vegetable,, lemons, cucumbers, oranges whatever I have on hand.  The  adult participants stopped bringing soft drinks to class and drank the infused water that was provided for them.  The children love it and drink water throughout the classes.

The minister of Briargate Presbyterian Church told me today that when they have functions at the church, they always serve lemonade and she hates that lemonade so she stated that they will be serving water with the fruit in it from now on.

It's a start and hopefully a long term life change for them.
