According to the 2022 Ag Census there are over 26,000 head of cattle in Hardin County, and the market value of those cattle was over 11 million dollars. Over the past year, the Agriculture and Natural Resource Agent for Hardin County reached beef producers via programs, newsletters, farm visits and personal communications. Programs included topics on marketing, utilizing drone technology, fall weed control, cost-share opportunities, Cattle Confinement Conference, and Beef Quality Care & Assurance trainings. Many of the programs offered were a result of discussions started in Agriculture and Livestock advisory councils.
