Stress can have a significant impact on a community, both in terms of individual health and social cohesion. High levels of stress can lead to physical and mental health issues such as high blood pressure, anxiety, depression, and sleep disorders. This can result in increased healthcare costs and decreased productivity in the workforce.

Kenton County FCS Program offering a beginning quilting class can have a positive impact on the community by providing a fun and creative outlet for individuals to learn a new skill. It can also help foster a sense of community by bringing people together who share a common interest. Additionally, quilting can have therapeutic benefits such as reducing stress and anxiety, which can have a positive impact on overall well-being.

Our Beginning quilting class was advertised in the Fall & Spring in what's happening publication that went to all Kenton County residents. A total of 15 people took the class and 10 have went on to participate in the project class to learn new skills.  The class was taught by two of our homemaker's that are Masters in Quilting.

70% of the participants said that learned to quilt has given them a time to slow down and learn something new.

60% are going on to the project class to learn more quilting skills.
