Planning Unit: Breckinridge County CES

Major Program: Family and Consumer Science

Plan of Work: Building life skills among all ages

Outcome: Initial Outcome

For five weeks, families embarked on an epic culinary adventure with the Passport Kitchen program. Together, they whipped up tasty new recipes and expanded their food horizons while learning about other cultures of different countries around the world. Cooking together isn't just about filling bellies; it's about igniting creativity, learning essential life skills, and growing that kitchen confidence!

Families explored a new recipe once a week as they gathered their kit from the Extension Office that had materials on the culture and country of the week, with one ingredient included for their recipe. One of our families submitted their photos from their culinary experience from Nigeria, saying, “It was amazing, and we definitely will make it again! We served it with African peanut chicken.” In another photo submission, a parent said, “Oh my goodness, we finally found the tapioca flour for the Brazilian Cheese Bread , and man oh man!” “We’re excited for the final countries and recipes.”
