In Laurel County the Nutrition Education Program assistant has given enough evidence based information and encouragement for 76% of program participants to make small changes in order to become more active, exercise at least 30 minutes daily after sharing information, and have started doing workouts to build and strengthen muscles. This percentage reflects single parents, people living in domestic violence and/or homeless shelters, and senior citizens, groups with factors set against them but still managing to modify behaviors.
