Outcome: Intermediate Outcome

Estill County Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agent offered pressure canning workshop to a total of 5 participants. One hundred percent of participants identified research-based methods of home food preservation because of the program.  One hundred percent of participants differentiated between high and low acid foods. One hundred percent of participants accurately prepared food products using the pressure canning method of preservation. One hundred percent said that they could identified signs of unsealed jars and signs of spoilage in home canned foods. A follow-up program is being planned to offer additional food preservation programming.
