Outcome: Initial Outcome

The problem: FCS agent and Stylist Montequa Jackson discussed the need to provide more programming for fathers. Montequa and FCS agent Maranda Brooks discussed a strong interest from the community and feedback of a daddy and daughter hairstyling class. 


The educational program response: FCS agent and Stylist worked together to provide identify the products needed and the structure of the class to involve watching a short film that expressed a fathers attempt to do daughters hair  


The participants/target audience- Fathers, Father figures, mentors and young daughters 


Other partners (if applicable)- Stylist Montequa Jackson from Posh Salon and Studio 


Program impact or participant response. 6 father/ daughter duos attended the class. 100% of the fathers expressed gaining hairstyling techniques that they plan to implement in their daily routine. 100% fathers attended had never been to the Fayette County Extension Office before and were thankful about hearing about all of the program areas from the FCS agent. 100% of the fathers expressed increased confidence to attempt a basic hairstyle for their daughter. 25% of attendance captured a diverse audience. 100% of the daughters expressed enjoyment of their dad wanting to learn how to take care of their hair and spending time with their dad 1 on 1. FCS agent and Montequa discussed from the postive initial response to hold future hairstyling programming (i.e. daddy and daughter, mommy and son).
