Major Program: Grains
Plan of Work: Grain Crops
Outcome: Initial Outcome
The problem: The Union County Grain Day has been around for several years for producers to attend this meeting in the winter and also earn their private applicator card for the year.
The educational program response: this past year was the first year to do the training for private applicators to seat through the whole program to listen to speakers and then training at the end of the program. The past the training was at the start and then people would leave without attending the educational program. But with this new set up producers had to attend the educational speakers. This is also were the county yield contest awards are handed out too.
The participants/target audience: Grain Farmers
Other partners (if applicable): My grain day committee get sponsors from local banks and business to help provide a steak dinner for the people that attend grain.
Program impact or participant response. The impact is that each year different topics on highlighted to help grain farmers with the upcoming season or help with their farms. Usually this meeting will be the best meeting I have with grain farmers and its about 50-75 producers that attend.
