Every year in the late spring, early summer food preservationists come to the Extension Office to get their dial gauge canner lid tested. Last year, summer of 2022 there was a woman who learned about this service at the Farmer's Market one Saturday morning. She followed up with the FCS Agent and scheduled an appointment to get her canner lid tested. Once it was checked and recommendations were given, she went on her way.
At the Farmer's Market last week, the FCS Agent was set up as she usually is on the first Saturday of each month. One of the visitors to her table was the woman from the prior year who got her canner tested. She gushed about how helpful the FCS Agent was with her canner and food preservation questions. She reported having preserved over 50 quarts of tomato products and a few other products in smaller quantities. She thanked the Agent again for being so helpful and said she's glad she got her canner ready to use again.
