Many financial education programs focus on budgeting and money managing skills. These skills do not highlight the money personality profile that can help people understand their relationships with money. Often budgeting and money management becomes stressful and unenjoyable for many. During the month of February, the Knox County Family and Consumer Science Agent offered, Money Habitudes to three groups that deal with stress management and parenting groups. The Money Habitudes program was offered in-person utilizing decks of Money Habitudes Cards. 13 people participated within the 3 groups.
Participants were asked to complete the “Managing in Tough Times-Money Habitudes Evaluation Form” at the end of the program. Of the 13 participants, 100% of participants indicated they learned how habits and attitudes trigger their spending. 100% of participants discussed in a group discussion the impacts of the behaviors the indicated.
100% of participants indicated they learned how to manage money to reach financial goals.
92% of participants indicated that they plan to adjust at least one spending habit toward financial stability.
53% of participants conversed in a group discussion the impacts of the behaviors they indicated.
