The Buffalo Trace Area Agriculture/Natural Resources Agents and Horticulture Agent offer an annual program for women in agriculture.  The program is only open to women with interest in the field of agriculture.    The program is designed to offer production and management techniques to be more efficient with the farm operation.   Thirty women attended sessions offered during the program.   Small fruit production, lawn management, Body Condition scoring/vaccines/ manure analysis, and marketing farm products with social media were the session topics for the program.  The hands-on approach to the sessions allowed the participants to gain a better understanding of topics as they helped with demonstrations.   Responses from those attending were very positive with over 85% stating they like the hands-on activities with the meetings.  Many indicated they would be able to handle mower maintenance more easily in the future.  Some with cattle operations said they could evaluate body condition scores to help provide proper nutrition to the herd.   The annual program has been well received and grown over the years.
