For the past year, Menifee county homemakers were left without a Family and Consumer Science Agent. With Covid-19 also playing it's essential role that has affected so many, distance was at an all time high and activities at a halt. As a new agent, I was curious where to start. How I would revamp our Association and entice more members to join? I started with going to every meeting each club hosted, meeting each homemaker, and making my presence known. I became quickly involved with our Menifee County Homemakers Association. I could tell each meeting I attended, the Homemakers were more engaged and exited to plan events. One event that was mentioned to me the very first week I started was Cultural Arts Contest. Out of the twenty-seven Menifee Homemakers, twenty-seven entries were made, and all twenty-seven entries placed at the county level. I alone took 24 entries to be judged at Licking River Area regional competition. From their Menifee Homemakers had eleven place to compete at the state level. It was a success amongst our association. They are excited for future events to come and eager for our KEHA State meeting in 2023.
