In January 2022, the Estill County Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program assistant received the 2022 Food and Nutrition Recipe Calendar from the University of Kentucky Nutrition Education Program. The Assistant advertised to the community through the newspaper, flyers, and Facebook posting that recipe demonstrations would be featured on Facebook LIVE 2 times a month. The first LIVE was held on January 28^th, 2022, with 20 participants watching, the assistant featured the January recipe, One Pot Italian Tortellini Dinner. After the LIVE, the assistant received several messages and comments from participants wanting their own calendars. The assistant with the help of the Estill County support staff mailed out 6 calendars, including one to Virginia. And 15 people came to the Estill County Extension Office to pick up a calendar. The Cooking through the Calendar Facebook LIVE’s will continue until all recipes have been featured.
