Summer Time in the Community

Author: Stacey Stephens

Planning Unit: Harrison County CES

Major Program: Nutrition and Food Systems General

Outcome: Long-Term Outcome

As Covid-19 continued to prove difficult to reach clients in a class setting, the Harrison County Nutrition Education Program Assistant collaborated with the Cynthiana Harrison County Chamber of Commerce to education Harrison County residents on improving their diet, farmers markets, and food safety in the summer months.

The Nutrition Education Program Assistant was invited to set up at the Summer Concert series and handouts were information on food safety, the local farmers market, and healthy recipes.

Over 500 Harrison County residents picked up helpful handouts which will help residents of Harrison County improver their overall health in years to come.
