Author: David Koester
Planning Unit: Campbell County CES
Major Program: Horticulture, Commercial
Plan of Work: Increasing Profits in Commercial Horticulture Enterprises
Outcome: Intermediate Outcome
Following twelve conference committee meetings and three ad hoc committee meetings involving three Land Grant Universities and twenty one other universities, municipalities, and the Cinn.. Zoo and Botanical Gardens the Tri State Green Industry conference was planned. This years event had to be postponed due to weather and was rescheduled. Due to the rescheduling the majority of speakers had to tape their presentations remotely. This created numerous technological and logistical issues. In spite of this we provided education and CEUs to 741 green industry personnel. 4 University of Kentucky specialists presented and the Boone and Kenton county horticulture agents were also on the program. Initial evaluations were positive regarding our ability to provide CEU opportunities. However respondents also wanted our format to return to live presentations in the future. This is exactly what the committee wants as well.
