“Pickin’ up the Park” success, a recent event organized by Muhlenberg County 4-H Teen Club members to clean up Paradise Park occurred Saturday, April 17th. The beautiful park nested in Powderly is enjoyed by many individuals and groups throughout the year, including 4-H. The 4-H Teen Club meets monthly at the UK Extension Office and is led by an elected team of officers: President, Kalista Lear, Vice-President, Kendra Walker, Secretary, Catherine Smith, Treasurer, Hannah Travis, Reporter Susan Newbury. The 4-H Teen Club conducts many civic engagement projects within the community throughout the year. The club chose Paradise Park to be their April service project to pick up fallen limbs and scattered trash in Paradise Park. The club is focused on helping their community and volunteering to help making a difference, even if it is one stick at a time. 4-H Teen Club members are encouraging others to go outdoors and spend time with your friends and family in nature. Challenge your own family to clean up and area of your choosing.
