Pre-covid the Menifee County Resource Center and the Menifee County Extension Office worked together to host a Reality Store for all 6-8th grades in Menifee County Schools. This entailed having 20 plus volunteers in the school for at least half a day. Volunteers would sit a booth that represented a real-life family expense. I reached out to Menifee County School Districts Alternative School teacher, Frankie Spencer. Mr. Spencer is a former substance abuse and drug prevention counselor as well as a support specialist for troubled kids. The Reality Store program, where students and young adults can get a glimpse of what future responsibilities can look like.
