Situation:
Strong leadership skills are needed to build a strong community. Extension volunteerism provides the opportunity for developing leadership skills. Extension Agents who serve on local Boards and Councils have the opportunity to engage community members in order to support community leaders.
Long-Term Outcomes:
•Participating Greenup County District Board members with current rotations
•Participating Greenup County Extension Council members with current rotations
•Active councils and volunteers in each programming area
•Agent participation on local Boards, Councils, Coalitions, etc.
*Kentucky communities’ health and economy are strengthened through strong local organizational leadership
*Community problems are solved through active engaged local leaders.
Intermediate Outcomes:
Practice personal leadership skills in clubs, schools and community outreach.

•CEC recommended programming in agent POW
•DB approved budget as recommended by CEC
•Strong community activities led by volunteers
•Agent leadership in community activities
Initial Outcomes:
Volunteers will take on responsibilities that will help them obtain better leadership skills. The following actions will allow volunteers to develop those skills:
•All program areas represented on District Board
•All program areas represented on County Extension Council
•All program area councils have active leaders and regular meetings
•Agents participate in non-Extension sponsored community leadership groups
•Volunteer interest in serving
•Active volunteers who agree to serve on boards and councils
•DB and CEC members who actively attend and participate in meetings
